- Feeding, providing approved enrichment, and exercising boarded animals.
- Cleaning doggo runs and kitty cat condos.
- Checking-in and out borders while interacting positively with their owners.
- Medicating boarded animals as appropriate.
- Laundry for the facility (lots of towels and blankets).
- Bathing dogs, brush-outs.
- Daily cleaning with light maintenance of boarding and all hospital areas.
- Expect to spend the majority of your day in the boarding area of the facility.

Requirements:
- Ability to work FULL-TIME.
- Competence in the English language, patience, and pleasant manner.
- LVT/CVT status is a bonus, but practical experience a must.
- Pay will reflect the candidate’s level of experience.
- Build positive, professional relationships with clients and team members.
- Have a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of the accurate drug and fluid doses.
- Be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology techniques, administer and monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, and perform dental procedures.
- Ability to comfortably interact, educate, and explain preventative and maintenance care of patients to their owners.
- Ability to comfortably interact, educate, and explain treatments and procedures to be performed.
- Deliver compassionate consistent nursing care.
- Expectation to spend nearly all of the workdays in the hospital’s exam, treatment, and surgical areas.
We are a progressive, general practice that has multi-parameter anesthetic patient monitors, IV pumps, digital general and dental x-ray, laser therapy, compressed air dental drill/scaler/polisher, ultrasound, tonometry, electrocautery, ultrasound, Abaxis in-house CBC and chemistry machines.
(0) Full-Time Opening for an Experienced Veterinary Assistant (CVA-Preferred)
We are seeking a veterinary assistant for a Full-Time position.
Duties:
- Assisting the receptionists
- Helping doctors with physical examinations
- Dispensing medications as prescribed by the veterinarians
- Helping veterinary technicians position patients for radiographs
- Assisting veterinary technicians with preparing patients for surgery
- Setting up for and cleaning up after surgical, dental and other procedures
- Disinfect and sterilize surgical instruments
- Assisting technicians with monitoring anesthesia and vital recording
- Providing nursing and comfort care
- Performing veterinarian ordered treatments
- Conducting basic laboratory diagnostic tests
- Preparing laboratory samples for outside testing and pick up
- Ability to adequately restrain dogs and cats for examinations
- Must be able to assist with examinations and procedures in a non-stressful manner
- Assisting the kennel with husbandry, baths, nail trims, anal gland expressions, and other needs
- Veterinary assistants must build positive, professional relationships with clients and staff members.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Assistants should have completed their high school diplomas and must pursue significant on-the-job training. 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of previous experience with animals in a professional setting or at a veterinary clinic is preferred.

Full-time benefits after a 90-day probationary period include designated paid holidays, 75% health insurance, pet care discounts, and uniforms. Paid time off starts after 1 year of employment. Continuing education is encouraged and supported upon approval. Full-time 4 weekday days in conjunction with alternating Saturdays is our standard work schedule.
Part-time benefits after a 90-day probationary period include pet care discounts and uniforms. Part-time 2-3 weekday days in conjunction with alternating Saturdays is our standard work schedule.
Workday hours are from 7:45 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 7:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Saturdays.
If you are applying for a Kennel Technician position, this role has a minimum of 1 weekend come back shift in conjunction with the above. A come back shift cares for all boarders when the hospital is closed, including holidays. Come back shifts are Saturday evenings, Sunday mornings, and Sunday evenings.
