Your pet is important to us. Because we care, we want to ensure that every effort is made to make your senior pet’s stay as pleasant as possible. When older pets are boarded, they experience stress due to removal from their home and loved ones, exposure to a new environment, interaction with other dogs and cats, new noises, different smells, unfamiliar people, and changes in food and water. While stress can help animals cope with these situations, prolonged stress without relief can prevent the body from resting and recovering. Underlying (or known) issues with kidney function, the immune system, blood pressure, and the heart can become more serious problems. This is why your senior pet may become ill away from home, even if they appeared healthy when you dropped them off. Symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, lethargy, or increased respiration may be observed. In the best interests of your pet, we request your permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment should it become necessary. We will attempt to contact you through the emergency contact numbers you provide. If no contact is made, how do you wish us to proceed with your pet’s care?
